Advancing Care Through Advanced Technology.

Dispatch

Dispatch Process: Armstrong’s communication center boasts one of the most technically advanced operations centers of its kind. Each member of our dispatch staff is trained and certified in emergency medical dispatching (EMD). The dispatchers utilize cutting edge computer aided dispatch software integrated with GPS technology to ensure that the closest appropriate ambulance responds to your emergency.

Voice Recording With Scenario Replay®: Both radio traffic and telecommunications are recorded. This system allows the operations center to record, monitor and reconstruct scenarios to meet the specific needs of our customers.

Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD): Armstrong has worked closely with Zoll Data Systems, the industry leader in computer aided dispatch systems, for several years. Armstrong serves as a Beta host site and showcase facility for Zoll, which allows Armstrong to be a leader in an ever changing technology climate.

Vehicle Communications

Radio Communication: Each vehicle is equipped with UHF and VHF radios allowing for communications among the crew, Armstrong operations center, local fire departments and statewide medical control centers. Units are also equipped with cellular phones with emergency priority status, providing a redundant line of communication in the event of a disaster.

Integrated Systems

Tablet Patient Care Record (PCR): Again, partnering with Zoll Data Systems to provide a fully integrated system, crews utilize laptop computers to document patient care. The Zoll software suite allows crews to obtain patient information, capture required signatures electronically, and complete patient care reports efficiently. Systems are integrated directly with the billing department to allow for seamless, accurate and consistent data processing.

Modems With GPS Tracking: Each vehicle is equipped with GPS modems. Our system exceeds U.S. military specifications for durability, while featuring data communications, GPS tracking, and a secure WiFi network ensuring that all data communications are protected against potential malicious attacks. This modem, along with Sierra Wireless MP Modem Manager, allows for centralized management of vehicle tracking and data communications. The modems are programmed to communicate directly to the dispatch software allowing accurate positioning and coordination of resources.

Reporting and Quality Assurance

Quality Assurance And Key Performance Indicators: Armstrong’s mechanism for measuring quality is through the monitoring of key performance indicators (KPI). Everything from call-processing times and out-of-chute times, to call summaries and chief complaint studies can be maintained from our data base. Upon request, customized reports are developed to track patient care issues that are important to our customers.

Continuous Quality Improvement(CQI): Continued quality monitoring is vital to every company’s success. Armstrong utilizes the advanced technology of SAP Crystal Reports© to produce customized reporting and data analysis. Our Quality Assurance program utilizes this customizable reporting tool to provide reviews of skills and documentation, ensuring the highest level of care that customers have come to expect from Armstrong Ambulance Service.
