BLS DIVISION

Armstrong Ambulance has been providing BLS service since 1946. Our BLS division is the back bone of our operation, currently providing services to more than 125 various health care facilities throughout eastern Massachusetts, transporting more than 75,000 patients annually. Our EMT staff is considered the "cream of the crop" and is truly dedicated to providing the highest level of service to our patients. Armstrong currently operates 62 BLS ambulances, stationed out of 9 satellite offices, stationed throughout eastern Massachusetts.

MODEL PROFLEX STRETCHERS

In an effort to assist our crews with lifting patients, we have equipped each ambulance with the latest FERNO stretcher,PROFLEX. This stretcher is a 1-1/2 person stretcher designed to help when lifting patients in and out of the ambulance.

PATIENT SLIDE BOARDS

All our ambulances are also equipped with patient slide boards. These slide boards are a mandated for all transfers from beds to stretchers and vice versa. They not only help with preventing injuries but they improve patient safety!

Zoll AED Pro - DEFIBRILLATORS

As the first private ambulance service to provide 100% of our BLS units with SAED units, we have equipped our crews with theZoll AED Pro model which is 100% compatible with all our ALS units. The Zoll AED Pro is designed to perform in any environment and provides the ruggedness, portability and advanced functionality that professional rescuers reguire from an AED.

EPI-PENS

All of our BLS ambulances are equipped with both child and adult Epi-Pens.

ELECTRICAL INVERTERS

All of our ambulances are designed and constructed to exceed the legal guidelines as outlined in the KKK Federal specifications. In additional both our ALS and BLS ambulance are equipped with 1200 watt inverters, thus enabling the continued operation of any electrical device needed to accompany the patient on the transfer.
